The 2025 UEFA Women's Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Women's Euro 2025 or simply Euro 2025, was the 14th edition of the UEFA Women's Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised by UEFA for the women's national teams of Europe. The tournament was played in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July 2025. This was the third edition since the tournament was expanded to 16 teams. The tournament returned to its usual four-year cycle after the previous tournament was delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Defending champions England retained the title, defeating Spain in the final via a penalty shootout. It was the first time a country defended their European title since Germany in 2013, and the first time the title was decided via a shootout since the inaugural tournament in 1984. Due to the record attendance and viewership across Europe, the tournament was deemed a huge success by UEFA's head of women's football, Nadine Kessler. Every host city has also stated it was a massive success. The tournament broke the total attendance record, previously held by England in 2022, with 657,291 spectators.
