Severo-Kurilsk (Russian: Се́веро-Кури́льск), formerly Kashiwabara (Japanese: 柏原), is a town and the administrative center of Severo-Kurilsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, located in the northern part of the Kuril Islands, on the island of Paramushir. Population: 2,536 (2010 census); 2,592 (2002 census); 5,180 (1989 Soviet census).
