Progress Singapore Party

Updated: 12/11/2025, 6:00:31 PM Wikipedia source

The Progress Singapore Party (abbreviation: PSP) is a political party in Singapore. It was one of the three political parties represented in the 14th Parliament, alongside the governing People's Action Party (PAP) and the other opposition Workers' Party (WP), with its two Non-constituency Members of Parliament (NCMP) seats held by Leong Mun Wai and Hazel Poa. The PSP was founded in 2019 by 11 members, including former PAP politician Tan Cheng Bock. The party was formed to address some of the PAP's leadership decisions, being supported by Lee family member Lee Hsien Yang. They held multiple talks and walkabouts throughout 2019, ahead of the 2020 general election where it contested in nine constituencies. They were unsuccessful in winning any constituencies, but were eligible for two NCMP seats, which were taken up by Leong and Poa. In the 2025 general election, the PSP contested in six constituencies, but they were further rejected by the electorate and did not have the mandate and legitmacy to be represented in Parliament. They only garnered 4.88% of the overall popular votes cast, and were not offered any NCMP seats.
