Kyle Joseph Schwarber (born March 5, 1993) is an American professional baseball left fielder and designated hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals, and Boston Red Sox. Internationally, Schwarber represents the United States. Schwarber played college baseball for the Indiana Hoosiers and was a first-round selection in the 2014 MLB draft by the Cubs, making his MLB debut with the Cubs the following year. He was a member of the Cubs’ 2016 championship team. In 2021, Schwarber signed with the Nationals and was traded to the Red Sox the same year, a year in which he made his first All-Star appearance. Schwarber signed with the Phillies in 2022. Known for his powerful, hard-hit home runs and high walk rate in contrast to his low batting average, Schwarber led the National League in home runs during his 2022 debut season with the Phillies and played with the team during the 2022 World Series, earning him his second All-Star appearance and first Silver Slugger Award. Schwarber was again named an All-Star in 2025. He holds the record for most National League Championship Series home runs (11), the most postseason home runs by a left-handed batter (23), the most postseason leadoff home runs (5), and has the distinction of being the only player to hit a home run in the Little League World Series, World Series, and World Baseball Classic championship game. On August 28, 2025, Schwarber became the 21st player in MLB history to hit four home runs in one game.
